My daughter attended summer camp here for the first time this year. She is 6. I was nervous at first because she was still learning to swim and I have never not been around her while she was around water. We never ran into any problems there as they always wore life jackets. They did get swim time/water time everyday as weather permitted. There were different activity stations set so there was something to do. There were many days she would fall asleep on the way home. You will hear other stories I am sure. Not all the Y's operate the same. I found all staff to be attentive, nice and easy to speak to. Were there a lot of kids, yes, but there were also people watching them and they were in a closed in space. I know not all the Y's have the fenced in area like the Greenbrier Y, so this is definitely an added bonus. Like all summer camps will things get forgotten or lost, yes!! We were able to get back 99% of the things that were left behind, so just know tat when you do drop off the next day, just ask for it or ask to look in the lost in found and it will more than likely be there. I felt overall for the cost and what you got out of the day the benefit of doing summer camp here outwe

The YMCA does not have the kid zone open on Saturday. It closed at 12 noon and should stay open until 5pm. Also it would be nice if they cleaned the bathrooms you can smell urine in the main lobby. The people at the desk acted like they couldn’t smell it but everyone else could. It was so bad I put on my disposable mask. The custodial needs to really clean the bathroom and do checks often. It was bout 2pm and the managerial staff needs to do better

This place allows for racism and they didn’t take me seriously on the old staff member who made clearly loud racial remarks, coordinator pretending to write about my concerns on a post it note. YMCA is supposed to be family friendly, but they allow for this behavior that I bring my kids to. Here they go today again, around me. Second photo is my report a few months ago with specific time bc I know they have cameras in the wellness center. But I had to post this today because they didn’t take my report seriously.
